Messing With Sex in Life

Updated: Sep 17, 2022

More and more videos are being released each day about what planned parenthood is doing within their organization.  But it doesn’t matter unless the American people can understand what they’re really doing.  Offending God over time isn’t good for our relationship with Him or with any human relationship.  What happens when we mess with sex in life?  Let’s look at three instances where people messed with sex in life and what God’s response was to it.  The first instance is part of my story, and the other two instances are part of two mens stories from the bible named Er, and Onan.

Julie Weber Quoted:  “During my teenage years, I lived a lifestyle of promiscuity, alcohol, and drug use.  I ended up pregnant at 20 years old.”  “After I had my abortion I got sick with the PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease), condition that happens more frequently to women who have had an abortion.  The doctor said I was anemic and as a result of having the PID I was sterile.  If I ever did get pregnant again, I would have a tubal pregnancy and would have to abort the baby immediately because it would be life threatening to me.”

For me, the area of messing with sex in life, was the type of lifestyle I was living at the time.  I allowed premarital sex into my relationships, which, eventually lead me to an unexpectant pregnancy.

I didn’t think that lifestyle I was living at the time, was offensive to God, much less I wasn’t concerned about God.  It was after I had my abortion I cried out to Him for help, and that was the start of things beginning to turn around for me in my relationship with Him.  As life went on, I believe He helped me because I kept taking more steps towards changing the way I was living.

When I watched the third new planned parenthood video that came out, I broke down after viewing human beings torn apart.  I worked so hard to have my kids.  Today, I have two miracle kids here on earth.  I was sterile for 9 years between the time of the abortion, the PID, and the time my soon to be husband, (Jeff), prayed for healing for me, while we were dating.  The planned parenthood video can be seen here.

Let’s read what some scriptures say about premarital sex.

1 Corinthians 6:18-20 The Message (MSG)

16-20  There’s more to sex than mere skin on skin.  Sex is as much spiritual mystery as physical fact.  As written in Scripture, “The two become one.”  Since we want to become spiritually one with the Master, we must not pursue the kind of sex that avoids commitment and intimacy, leaving us more lonely than ever-the kind of sex that can never “become one.”  There is a sense in which sexual sins are different from all others.  In sexual sin we violate the sacredness of our own bodies, these bodies that were made for God-given and God-modeled love, for “becoming one” with another.  Or didn’t you realize that your body is a sacred place, the place of the Holy Spirit?  Don’t you see that you can’t live however you please, squandering what God paid such a high price for?  The physical part of you is not some piece of property belonging to the spiritual part of you.  God owns the whole works.  So let people see God in and through your body.

The above scriptures tells us that God owns all of us.  Our bodies are a sacred place with the Holy Spirit. Other meanings of sacred: are holy; secured against violation; infringement; sense of right; and sacred rights.  Abortion was clearly an act that violated my human body, and my child’s human body.

Lets look at two other instances where two men named Er, and Onan messed with sex in life and what God’s response was to it.

Genesis 38 The Message (MSG)

1-5  About that time, Judah separated from his brothers and hooked up with a man in Adullam named Hirah.  While there, Judah met the daughter of a Canaanite named Shua.  He married her, they went to bed,  she became pregnant and had a son named Er.  She got pregnant again and had a son named Onan.  She had still another son;  she named this one Shelah.  They were living at Kezib when she had him.

6-7  Judah got a wife for Er, his firstborn.  Her name was Tamar.  But Judah’s firstborn, Er, grievously offended God and God took his life.

8-10  So Judah told Onan, “Go and sleep with your brother’s widow; it’s the duty of a brother-in-law to keep your brother’s line alive.”  But Onan knew that the child wouldn’t be his, so whenever he slept with his brother’s widow he spilled his semen on the ground so he wouldn’t produce a child for his brother.  God was much offended by what he did and also took his life.

11  So Judah stepped in and told his daughter-in-law Tamar, “Live as a widow at home with your father until my son  Shelah grows up.”  He was worried that Shelah would also end up dead, just like his brothers.  So Tamar went to  live with her father.

I thought these passages were interesting for several reasons:

  1. It woke my eyes up to how watchful God is to everything we do including messing with life in sexual areas like this.

  2. It also revealed how easily we can offend God without ever even knowing it.  I don’t think either of them had a chance to know why they offended God.  Onan, yes, maybe God revealed it to him just before he took him, because it is quoted in the scriptures what he did that offended God; “he spilled his semen on the ground so he wouldn’t produce a child for his brother.”  With Er, no I don’t think he had a clue what he did before his life was cut short.  Nothing is quoted in the scriptures.

  3. Both Er, and Onan’s lives were taken so fast, they didn’t have a chance to apologize to God because of any disobedience, to their one same wife or anyone else in their lives.

I don’t know about you, but I would like to wake up tomorrow, and not live life and end up like like Er, and Onan.

I don’t want to grieve God so much that He suddenly takes my life without telling me why.

Or who wants to be taken right after the act of sex because we didn’t control our semen right; realizing that the act of sex was created for enjoyment and producing ongoing life rather than destroying ourselves and humanity by stopping it short with abortion.

The more videos that are released from planned parenthood, especially like the one I have posted in this blog, should show you views of what they are doing more in-depthly.  Seeing these dead babies after an abortion shown in the video, I think, offends God.  This isn’t the way He intended for humanity to be.  Constant offense in any relationship puts a strain on it and pretty soon one of you gives up on working on the relationship. What do you need to do to take a step closer to God today?  Ask Him to forgive you and our nation America for any offense that we might have done without knowing it.  Ask Him what your involvement should be, from this point on, in fighting for the life of the unborn. Receive His answers! Thank Him for answering you! Let today, be the day, you begin walking out His new directions in a new liberated way!
